In September, the diurnal temperature range in Ningxia has already widened, yet at Wuzhong Instrument’s control valve manufacturing base, the machining centers and assembly lines continue to run nonstop. In the 80,000-square-meter workshop, layers of hot air rise upward, leaving those on the floor feeling stifled.

Three years ago, cooling here relied on wall-mounted fans and a few spot‑type air conditioners: the airflow reached only the small area directly in front of each person, while hot air circulated under the roof. Installing full‑scale air conditioning, however, was both financially unfeasible and unsustainable in terms of operating costs.

After conducting an on-site survey, the chief engineer presented a straightforward plan— Dozens of HVLS industrial ceiling fans, each with a diameter of 7.3 meters. , with placement determined by column spacing and workstation density. Rather than relying on high‑velocity air blasts, these systems use large airflow volumes at low fan speeds to gently lift the air throughout the entire floor, creating a three‑dimensional, top‑down circulation: accumulated heat is dispersed, stale air is exhausted, and fresh air is continuously supplied.

The results are reflected in the data: during the summer, each workstation in the workshop is consistently swept by a stable airflow. As September begins, the role of this system becomes even more critical.
